With every project the opportunity arises to explore new avenues of interior design.

The owners expressed their passion for art and design and presented a collection of inherited contemporary classics and antique furniture which were to be very much a part of this project. The client’s passion and collections, coupled with their strict instructions that the children and the dogs were to be very much a part of what was going to make this home work, meant that a lot of consideration had to be given to what materials would be used.

For the kitchen, we chose bamboo which is a hard wearing product with an interesting texture. The kitchen dining table is made up of a collage of different woods which add to the interesting elements. One particularly striking feature is the six meter high library unit. Lighting was another important design element. A separated pavilion houses the boys den, a mezzanine sleeping deck sporting a fireman's pole and ladder, a pool table and big screen ensure everlasting fun.

Visiting the house over a period of time and seeing it function with the family in it, concluded this successful project.
